The role
What does a biophilic designer do?
A biophilic designer plans a building so the people inside it stay connected to nature: orienting for daylight and cross ventilation, shaping courtyards and indoor-outdoor flow, and integrating planting and living materials. Our approach
Passive cooling, terracotta, courtyard
Our biophilic approach starts with passive cooling: orientation, shading, cross ventilation, and a courtyard that moves air and light through the plan. We build with terracotta, Kota stone, and oxide, and we integrate planting as a system rather than decoration. Akshara Vinyasa, our RR Nagar studio, runs without air conditioning on exactly these moves, through peak Bengaluru summer.
